I was honestly a bit skeptical about online chess classes at first, but Shubham completely proved me wrong. My son(9 year old) was doing okay in his openings but he kept falling apart in the endgame and throwing away winning positions. It was so frustrating to watch, Shubham immediately noticed this during their first few games and shifted the focus of the lessons. He is incredibly patient. Now my son actually knows how to calmly finish a match without panicking. Really great experience so far.

Quick update after 6 months of classes: my son is a completely different player. The biggest change is purely his confidence on the board. He doesn't panic when he is in a tough position anymore, he just takes his time and thinks it through. Shubham is straightforward, patient, and really knows how to teach. 5 stars

We’ve only been doing classes with Shubham for a couple of months and the difference in my sons game is night and day. I rarely write reviews but I had to for this. if you want your kid to actually improve at chess and not just waste time playing random games, book Shubham. my daughter was stuck at the same beginner level for almost a year. Shubham came in and completely fixed her weak spots by drilling specific tactics with his puzzle sets. the improvement in just a few weeks has been crazy - she is spotting board patterns I cant even see! best investment we've made for her extracurriculars

Honestly my son gets distracted so easily so I was worried about online classes. But shubham has the patience of a saint. Even when my kid zones out or asks the same question again and again, he never ever gets annoyed. he just calmly brings his attention back to the board (takes a lot of patience to teach rowdy kids online but he handles it so well!)

Love how understanding Shubham is with timings. We had to reschedule a few classes because of school exams and he was completely cool about it.

My youngest was totally obsessed with only moving his knights and would just ignore the rest of the board. I thought a coach would just get annoyed or force him to memorize standard openings but Shubham was so clever about it. He actually went with it and spent a whole class showing him how to use knights properly, and then slowly got him to care about his bishops and rooks too. he really gets into the childs mind and adapts the lesson to how they think instead of forcing a strict curriculum... Such a relief to find a tutor who personalizes things this well
