About Miguel
I am a very young, experienced and passionate mathematics educator. I enjoy helping young people to learn and appreciate mathematics as part of our everyday existence. I studied mathematics extensively and is adept with the British curriculum as well as other curriculums across the world. My passion for maths goes beyond the classrooms and extends to looking at how we use maths in our daily living. This helps people to better appreciate maths for what it is and allows them to see how applicable it can be. I teach to engage students in the kinds of thinking skills that will enable them to become productive citizens. I strive to empower learners and to create a safe place where students feel comfortable to participate and make mistakes.

I teach to engage students in the kinds of thinking skills that will enable them to become productive citizens. I strive to empower learners and to create a safe place where students feel comfortable to participate and make mistakes. In my teaching, you can find lots of modelling so that students can see step by step how each solution is arrived at. You can also find lots of examples and opportunities for students to participate and give their input. This is very important in gauging students understanding and for giving meaningful feedback for improving their craft. I also use online games and manipulatives to allow students to move from abstract context to the concrete context which will have more meaning to them and they would better understand the concepts
