About Anthony
I want to teach because I enjoy English Literature and want to help others feel more confident in the subject. Having recently achieved an A* at A-level, I know how frustrating it can be to have good ideas but struggle to express them in an essay.
I’d like to share the approaches that helped me, while encouraging students to develop their own interpretations. My aim is to make challenging texts feel accessible and lessons feel supportive, so students can ask questions freely, improve their writing and enjoy what they’re studying.

Having achieved an A* in A-level English Literature, I help GCSE and A-level students build confidence in literary analysis, essay writing and exam technique.
My lessons are tailored to your exam board, texts and goals. Through discussion, close reading and focused writing exercises, we’ll practise developing original interpretations, structuring convincing arguments and using quotations effectively. You’re welcome to bring school essays or feedback so we can work on what you need most.
Lessons typically last one hour, combining explanation with practical tasks and constructive feedback. My approach is patient and collaborative, with plenty of room to ask questions and explore your ideas.
As a new tutor, I bring recent, first-hand experience of succeeding in A-level exams and an understanding of the challenges students face. I teach students aged approximately 14–18, with lessons available in London and online.
