About Gene
I’m a friendly, patient and approachable Psychology graduate who enjoys helping students understand the subject and build confidence in their abilities. I achieved a B in A Level Psychology and went on to complete a Psychology degree at Nottingham Trent University, achieving a high 2:1.
Having recently been a student myself, I understand the challenges that come with A Level Psychology, particularly when it comes to remembering studies, applying theories and developing strong evaluation points in exam questions. I know that sometimes the difference between understanding a topic and achieving a high grade comes down to how the material is explained and how effectively you apply it in an exam. I want to tutor because I enjoy helping people make progress and seeing their confidence improve. My lessons would be relaxed and supportive, while still focusing on the skills needed to achieve strong results. Whether you need help understanding difficult topics, improving essay structure, developing evaluation skills or preparing for exams, I’ll tailor sessions to your individual needs.

My lessons are tailored to each student and their individual goals. I aim to make Psychology clear, engaging and easy to understand, rather than simply asking students to memorise large amounts of information. Depending on what you need, lessons can focus on understanding key theories and studies, improving exam technique, developing evaluation points, practising exam questions or revising specific topics. I’ll also help you understand how to structure strong answers and apply your knowledge effectively to different question types. As someone who has recently completed both A Level and university-level Psychology, I can share the approaches that helped me throughout my own studies. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, looking to improve your grades or preparing for exams, lessons will be adapted to your current level and what you want to achieve.
