About Hazel
I'm a licensed professional teacher, having passed the official Licensure Examination for Teachers, and I've been teaching English at the college level since 2023. Before that, I worked as an ESL teacher and spent several years in customer service and quality assurance, which gave me strong communication skills and a lot of patience for explaining things clearly. I take my role as a tutor seriously — being on time, prepared, and genuinely invested in each student's progress matters to me. I enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and skill levels, and I always aim to make lessons feel supportive rather than stressful, so students feel comfortable making mistakes while they learn.

My teaching approach is student-centered and practical. I focus on building real confidence in speaking, not just memorizing rules. A typical lesson starts with a short review, moves into a focused topic (grammar, vocabulary, or conversation practice), and ends with a speaking or writing exercise so you can immediately apply what we covered. What sets me apart is my mix of experience: I've taught college-level English, tutored ESL students of different nationalities, and spent years in customer service and a quality assurance analyst, so I know how to explain things clearly and patiently, even when a concept doesn't click right away.
