About Meghan
I have always taught English—it's the only thing I ever wanted to do. I love the Classics and have a very good eye for editing (polishing writing). I have worked with students from 9th - 12th grade, including DL and AP students. I have spent the majority of my years with 10th and 11th graders, teaching American and English lit. When I first started teaching (back in 1998!), I included ACT prep into my classroom instruction. This became something I really enjoyed, and when I went abroad to teach (American School of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and American School of Monterrey, Mexico), students were in need of ACT and SAT prep. Thus, I began test-prep tutoring sessions for 3-15 students. This continued in the US with after school crash courses.

We can work on assignments for your current English classes—responding to analytical reading questions, brainstorming and planning the organization for essays, composing essays with seamless integration of quoted material and insightful analysis into the texts. We can also work on ACT and SAT reading and writing sections, as I have 25+ years of full-class preparation and individual/small tutoring for these exams. I have taught all levels of students, including Diverse Learners and AP English Language students, and I enjoy them all and can tailor my instruction to fit your needs and learning style.
