About Shahrzad
I am a dance educator and have tutored math and science along with teaching and performing dance. I am patient and am fascinated by how differently our brains work and enjoy figuring out different ways to explain math problems. When I hear an "Oh NOW I get it!" from a student I get the satisfaction of knowing I have done my job well.

My approach to teaching math is, first of all, to show that it is not a monster in the dark. Everything seems scary when we don't understand it. Secondly, I try to see the confusion from the student's perspective and then walk them step-by-step through the maze to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And then get them to become independent in solving the math problems.
