About Shreya
I’ve been tutoring since my first year at university, when I was 18, and I’m now 28, giving me over 10 years of tutoring experience. Throughout this time, I’ve worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them not only improve their maths skills but also build confidence in their own ability.
I particularly enjoy finding fun, creative and unique ways to explain difficult topics and break them down into simple, manageable steps. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit the individual and create a relaxed environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
For me, tutoring is about more than just getting the right answer — it’s about helping students understand why something works and giving them the confidence to tackle problems independently. Seeing a student go from saying “I can’t do this” to “I understand!” is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me.

I like to make my lessons relaxed, engaging and tailored to each student. I usually start by checking in on what they already know and identifying any areas they find challenging. From there, I break topics down into clear, manageable steps and explain them using different methods depending on how the student learns best.
We then work through examples together before moving on to questions where the student can apply what they’ve learned independently. I like to use fun and creative approaches, particularly for topics that students find difficult or intimidating.
I also regularly revisit previous topics to make sure knowledge is being retained and build confidence over time. Every lesson is adapted to the student’s individual pace, ability and goals, whether that’s improving understanding, preparing for an exam or simply feeling more confident with maths.
