About Chenzi

My name is Chenzi, a native Mandarin speaker with a Master’s degree from Heriot-Watt University. I have several years of experience teaching Mandarin to both children and adults, both online and offline. I am passionate about helping students build confidence and communicate effectively in real-life situations. My teaching style is patient, structured, and engaging, and I always adapt my lessons to suit each student’s goals and learning pace.

About the lesson

My name is Chenzi, and I am a passionate Mandarin teacher dedicated to helping students learn in a practical, engaging, and confidence-building way.

My teaching approach focuses on real-life communication. I combine speaking, listening, reading, and writing in every lesson to ensure students can actually use Mandarin in daily situations, not just memorize vocabulary. I use interactive techniques such as role-play conversations, visual flashcards, pronunciation practice, and simple grammar structures to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

Each lesson is typically 60 minutes long and is carefully structured based on the student’s level and goals. For younger learners, I use fun and interactive methods to keep them engaged, while for adults, I focus more on practical conversation, business communication, and structured language learning.

I hold a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing from Heriot-Watt University and have several years of experience teaching Mandarin both online and offline. I have worked with students ranging from 6 years old to adults, from complete beginners to intermediate learners.

My lessons are suitable for:
• Children (6+) who are starting Mandarin
• Adults who want to learn Mandarin for travel, work, or personal interest
• Beginners to intermediate level students

I always adapt my teaching style to each student, ensuring a personalized and supportive learning experience. My goal is to help students feel confident, motivated, and able to communicate in Mandarin step by step.

QINGLIN

A good teacher with strong empathy for the kids who can feel inspired by both what he/she is learning and who he/she is learning from.

Education is not just the imparting of knowledge but also the interaction between souls, the activation on students' interest in the relevant field with strong and continuous curiosity, which is the key driving factor for the learner to progress independently for long term.

Ms. Ren told me an old saying from China that impressed me the most: Education is like one tree stirring another; one cloud driving another; one soul awakening another.

I think this will also be the way in which I will teach and treat my kids in the future.

Chenzi is an incredibly supportive and patient Mandarin tutor who creates a safe, encouraging space for students to learn and grow. I’ve seen how she adapts her teaching style to each student’s pace, making even complex concepts feel approachable. What really stands out is how she builds confidence. She celebrates small wins, encourages speaking without fear, and keeps lessons engaging and practical. I’d highly recommend Chenzi to anyone looking for a Mandarin teacher.
