About Alex
I’m a Biomedical Science student at the University of Queensland, and Mandarin is my native language. I moved to Australia six years ago and specialize in tutoring high school students. I focus on clear explanations, structured lessons, and helping students build real understanding for school assessments and exams. I’m patient, reliable, and adapt my teaching style to each student. My goal is to help students improve consistently while building confidence in their speaking, writing, and overall use of Mandarin.

Lessons are structured around core skills: vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and listening. Each session includes guided practice, real examples, and review to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Guided practice:
I work through questions and exercises step-by-step with the student, helping them apply new vocabulary and grammar with support before they try it independently.
Real examples:
I use everyday situations (e.g. ordering food, conversations, school topics) to show how Mandarin is actually used, so students can apply what they learn in real contexts.
