Master Mandarin Chinese efficiently with practical shortcuts taught by an expert tutor with 10+ years living in China.

I highly recommend Julian! I have learned Mandarin from him both in a classroom setting and through private lessons. He makes learning fun, relaxed, and easy to understand. He adapts his teaching style to your individual needs and never uses a one size fits all approach.

I personally struggled with grammar, but he took the time to focus on it and explain it in a way that finally made sense to me.

Although English is his native language, he speaks Mandarin at a native like level and has an excellent understanding of how the language is actually spoken.

He is patient, encouraging, and makes learning enjoyable. I highly recommend Julian to anyone wanting to learn Mandarin!

Julian has played a big part in helping me improve my Mandarin over the years, I have really appreciated his knowledge, patience, and teaching style. I have had the opportunity to learn from him in several different settings — in a classroom, online, and through one-on-one lessons. This has given me a great appreciation for how well-rounded and versatile he is as an instructor.

Julian is highly proficient in Mandarin and has an excellent understanding of how the language is used both in everyday, real-world situations and in more formal settings. Whenever I have a question about how to say something naturally, he is always able to explain it clearly and provide practical examples.

What I appreciate most about Julian is his ability to make learning Mandarin fun, relaxed, and informative. He is patient, knowledgeable, and able to adapt his teaching to what I am trying to learn and improve.

I would highly recommend Julian to anyone looking to learn Mandarin, whether you are just starting out or wanting to improve your existing skills. Based on my experience with him over the years, I would give Julian 10 out of 10 as an instructor. I have really enjoyed learning with him and feel that his teaching has made a significant difference in my Mandarin ability.

My lessons with Julian have helped my Chinese improve so much! Although I had tried learning Mandarin on my own and through various apps, my lessons with Julian are what have helped me progress the most. He is able to explain grammar clearly, correct bad habits, and pinpoint exactly what I need to work on to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.

Julian isn’t just a skilled linguist; he is also an excellent teacher who really knows how to explain Chinese in a way that native English speakers can easily understand. His fluency in Mandarin is amazing, but what I appreciate most is his creative and unique approach to teaching. He always finds different ways to explain things and keeps the lessons interesting and fresh. I’ve become much more confident in my Chinese as a result of our lessons. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Julian as a Mandarin teacher! He taught me Mandarin over multiple years, both in-person and online. His teaching methods are extremely effective and he makes lessons fun, engaging, and memorable. His sense of humour always made learning fun rather than intimidating, and he genuinely cares about helping you progress.
Would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn Mandarin!

I couldn’t recommend Julian more! He is an excellent tutor with an amazing, native-level grasp of Mandarin, yet he has put in all of the hard work to learn, so he is able to clearly and accurately teach Chinese. His teaching methods and approach to learning are great, encouraging, and show that he understands the best way for someone at any level to improve their language abilities. He has been helping me correct all of my bad tones, and all of my Chinese friends say I am much easier to understand and I now can speak much more naturally! 5 10/10 experience! Thx Julian
