About the lesson

As a Spanish tutor with over 10 years of experience and a background studying abroad in Bogotá, Colombia, my teaching approach is highly interactive and student-centered. I begin each session with a friendly conversation to understand my students better and ease them into the lesson. My methodology involves transitioning from casual dialogue to focused learning, ensuring a balance between speaking practice and structured exercises.

My lessons are designed to be clear and straightforward, avoiding overly technical jargon. I engage with students as if we were friends, ensuring comprehension by frequently checking if they understand the material. Sessions typically last between one to one and a half hours, incorporating practical exercises and immediate feedback on mistakes.

What sets me apart is my unique perspective as an American who has mastered Spanish and understands the challenges non-native speakers face. Unlike many native tutors, I offer insights into learning Spanish from a learner’s viewpoint, emphasizing the diverse dialects and regional nuances.

I specialize in teaching Colombian Spanish, ideal for those planning to study or travel to Colombia. My lessons cater to students at an intermediate level (B1/B2), focusing on expanding vocabulary, understanding local dialects, and improving conversational skills.
