About Hiram

Drafting blueprints under the hum of studio lights sparked my interest in the precision of lines. After 8 years of teaching AutoCAD, I have developed a deep appreciation for the clarity that templates and drawing standards bring to a complex project. My approach focuses on the logic of xrefs and external references to help students organize their workspaces effectively.

I break down 2D drafting fundamentals so that precise drawing with coordinates becomes an intuitive habit. Mastering hatching, fills, dimensioning, and annotation is the primary goal of our technical work. Helping students translate their vision into professional files is a process I handle with patience and structured guidance.

About the lesson

Real efficiency in drafting does not come from memorizing every command in the software. You start by learning how to build workflows that mimic real engineering environments using the standards I gained from my BS Civil Engineering degree.

We will navigate the interface systematically to ensure your files remain clean and editable for team members. Spending 10 minutes on setting up your environment saves hours of troubleshooting later in the drafting process.

I incorporate my 8+ years of experience to show you the subtle habits that distinguish a junior drafter from a lead designer.
