About Ian
I am a 5th year Math PhD student at Brandeis University living in the Boston area. My research involves the application of gauge theory and Floer homology to the study of 3- and 4-manifolds. I completed my undergraduate studies at Cornell University, where I studied mathematics and computer science.

Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching approach involves using lots of examples --- alternating between helping students through examples and having them try problems on their own. I try to emphasize conceptual understanding over rote memorization, t ensure future success in mathematics classes.
Tasks I can help with:
1) Middle/high school math classes
2) Homework guidance
3) Lower-level undergraduate math classes (single- and multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, differential equations)
4) Advanced undergraduate/ graduate math classes (topology, algebra, analysis)
