About Colin

I earned my BA in Mathematics from Harding University in 2023. I’ve tutored on and off over the years (primarily helping friends) and discovered that I really enjoy helping people get math.

I haven’t always had an easy time with it myself. I’ve made mistakes, struggled with concepts, and learned the hard way what doesn’t work. That experience shaped how I teach: sometimes understanding just takes the right explanation and someone who can challenge you without the pressure of a grade.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around figuring out where you’re stuck and strengthening those areas step by step. Since math builds on itself, I focus on solid foundations so future topics don’t feel overwhelming.

Mistakes are part of learning, not something to fear. When you make one, we’ll break down why it happened and talk through strategies to avoid it next time. We’ll work through homework, review textbook examples, and use extra practice problems when helpful, so you’re confident and prepared going forward.

Perfect! I highly recommend him as a tutor! He has a background in mathematics and has done an excellent job expanding into engineering tutoring. He is currently helping me with ELEC 3800, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. He is incredibly patient, takes the time to sit down and work through problems with me, and has a talent for breaking down difficult engineering concepts into something much easier to understand. Even the most challenging homework problems become manageable with his guidance. He makes sure I understand the reasoning behind each solution rather than just giving me the answer. His ability to make complicated material approachable has made a real difference in my learning, and I’m grateful to have found such a great tutor!
