About Benjamin
Patience, kindness, and empathy are just as important as knowing how to do math. I will help you work through frustration and feelings of failure in equal measure with teaching you skills and helping you to improve your mathematical acumen. Your grades are not more important than your confidence. I help you build up your self-esteem as you learn that you can do the math that used to frustrate you. I encourage the student just as much as I explain the formulas. My goal is to help you develop into a strong, confident student.

I use the EDGE method: Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, and Enable. I will tell you how it works, work some example problems for you, walk you through solving some problems yourself, and then answer questions as you master the skill. Bring me what you're struggling with and leave with skill and confidence. I will modify and adapt my explanations to match your learning style. I am patient and encouraging. My goal is not only for you to understand math but to feel good about it! I tutor every level of math from counting to calculus and every grade level from kindergarten to undergraduate college.
