About Dorian
I am a student at the University of Cape Town doing a B.Sc. Hons. mathematics. I finished my undergraduate B.Sc. majoring in mathematics, mathematical statistics and computer science. I have been a tutor for the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics for three years, currently tutoring first year engineering maths. This is where I learnt that I really enjoy tutoring.
I have gotten A's for maths throughout my schooling career including university. I participated in maths competitions during high school and placed 11th and 20th in the UCT Maths Competition(2019, 2022) and top 100 in SAMF Maths Competition.

Mathematics can get very abstract and it is precisely then that we need to bring it down to something tangible. I am a firm believer of learning through application and using theory as a tool to solve problems. Mathematics is just a tool. And like a screwdriver doesn't make sense if you have no screws, maths can similarly seem senseless when you don't see its applications.
My job as a tutor is to find my tutee's weaknesses and help them overcome it. I am proficient in English and can tutor students from high school to undergraduate.
