About Oliver
I am a final year Mechanical Engineering Honors student at Macquarie University with a strong interest in mathematics, physics and practical problem solving. My honors research focuses on the design and optimization of a liquid rocket engine, including the development of a custom Python thermal model. This has strengthened my ability to explain how equations connect to real engineering applications. I also have experience coaching young people and enjoy adapting my communication to each individual. I want to teach because I know how much difference a clear explanation can make, and I enjoy helping students build both understanding and confidence.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s current level, goals and preferred way of learning. I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding, explain the underlying concepts from first principles, and then work through examples before allowing the student to attempt similar problems independently. Rather than simply providing answers, I focus on developing a clear, repeatable problem solving process and building confidence. As a final-year Mechanical Engineering Honours student with experience coaching young people, I am well suited to supporting high school and early university students in mathematics, physics and introductory engineering.
