About Akshara
I am a medical student passionate about teaching individualized lessons for students to inspire a love of science and learning. I have multiple years of full-time work experience as a research scientist in a lab, and more years of training in science myself.

I like to start off the lesson with a brief overview of the topics and get feedback from the student about what parts of it they are least confident in. As we go over those parts in greater detail, I like to stop and ask the student questions to gauge their understanding and probe them to think more critically about the topic and applications of it. The later part of the lesson, I like to focus on problem-solving and application of the knowledge just learned so the student can get practice applying information in a practical way and get comfortable with more test-taking tactics. I have 4+ years experience teaching elementary school students and 1+ years experience teaching high school students and college students. Overall, I am comfortable teaching K-college students in science - especially biology and chemistry.
