About Athena

As a graduate in Music with 10 years of performance experience both in the US and internationally, I bring a rich and diverse background to my teaching. My experience spans a range of genres, including world music, neo soul, jazz, and classical, providing me with a broad understanding of various musical styles and techniques. This versatility allows me to offer students a well-rounded education tailored to their individual interests and goals.

My teaching approach emphasizes both technical skill and artistic expression. I focus on building a strong foundation in essential musical concepts such as theory, technique, and sight-reading while also encouraging students to explore and develop their own musical voice. By incorporating a variety of genres into the lessons, I help students gain a comprehensive understanding of different styles and how to integrate them into their playing.

I am committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel inspired to reach their full potential. Regular feedback and assessments are integral to my teaching, allowing me to track progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure continued growth. This personalized approach helps students stay motivated and achieve their musical aspirations, whether they are preparing for performances or simply seeking to enhance their skills.

Outside of teaching, my passion for music drives me to continually explore new genres and stay connected to the evolving music scene. This enthusiasm enriches my lessons and helps me share a genuine love for music with my students. By combining extensive performance experience with a deep commitment to teaching, I aim to inspire and guide each student on their unique musical journey.
