About Gemma
I am a musician who plays Clarinet and Saxophone and a lover of music theory and musicology. I've helped students learn and develop their instrumental and theoretical understanding and hope to help others, too!
I am currently studying towards my Music Theory diploma so also understand that there will be different ways needed in order to learn the content.

I provide lessons to:

GCSE Music students and their course content
A-level Music students and their course content
For the first lesson:
I will ask you to complete a little task covering a basis of topics. The first questions are what you wish to get out of the lessons, what you know you enjoy, don't enjoy, how you learn best and when is best for you (in terms of lessons).
Then there will be a list of questions that could come up in a theory exam (or reading sheet music if that is your aim).
Then in each lesson I will outline the objectives and try and make the lessons suited to your preferences in learning.
Throughout the lessons I will make sure you still understand, and make sure to be as differential as I can! I understand what it's like to feel like you're not getting anywhere, but that's why I am here to help!

Gemma is a kind, lovely person with a bubbly personality. Gemma is very dedicated to her craft and always strives to give 100% in everything she does. Her patience and understanding helps to make Gemma a stand out choice as a tutor.
Gemma tutored me in music theory, her constant smile and enthusiasm made the subject much more interesting than any of my previous instruction. She is clearly well versed in the subject, and is also highly skilled at teaching it in a way that gets the students involved.
