About Ahmed Abdullah
I am a scientist specializing in molecular and cell biology, fluent in English and Arabic. I have tutored school students at various ages for GCSE and A level (Maths, Biology and Chemistry). I managed a group of 6-8 tutees at the same time; explaining the subject, assessing their progress and marking their work. In the academic environment, I have supervised many BSc, master, work placement and Erasmus students (around 7 students) and helped them to succeed in doing their research projects and overcome challenges. I was postgraduate teaching assistant (PGTA) for 3 years at UCL. I demonstrated in various laboratory practical classes including biochemistry, cell biology and microbiology modules as well as marked students’ lab reports. I participated in the preparation of a continuing professional development (CPD) course called Lab Techniques in Mammalian Cell Biology led by Professor Ivan Gout for which I was the leading tutor. I contributed by writing lab protocols, preparing experimental materials and demonstrating in practical classes.

My strategy to teach students is first of all to make sure that they understand the class material. Secondly to go through as much practice as possible. Thirdly identify the weak areas of the student and tackle them in order to improve the student’s performance. I also use with younger students “reward for achievement” to encourage them to work harder to learn the class material.

He is a brilliant tutor, really professional and honest.
I couldn't wish anyone better than him for my daughter's lesson.
Mr.Ahmed is Really professional and it was a great teaching experience with him, He taught me the way I expected and he has a talent of simplifying the complex information. highly recommend!
Ahmed is biology resercher of the highest quality. He is well educated with years of experience, graduated/ working in top UK universities (UCL, KCL). He is patient, kind and intelligent.
I've known Ahmed for years while working at UCL. I recall other scientists speaking very highly of his work and his ability to present the information so others could understand it. He was respected by his peers for his academic work more than others in the same division.
I've also known him personally and can vouch for his deep ethical integrity. He is calm yet passionate when discussing scientific matters, he listens carefully. People break out in a smile when they see him because of his cheerful disposition! I have no doubt that he will be a superb tutor to anyone fortunate enough to learn from him.View more recommendations
