About Callum
I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, where my professional career was built within the highest tiers of British communication and academia. I have worked inside the national parliament and collaborated directly alongside world-class academic institutions, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Glasgow, and the University of St Andrews. Because of this direct experience, I know exactly what these elite institutions expect from a student’s vocabulary, structure, and tone.
Beyond academia, I am the founder and director of an international company. On a daily basis, I negotiate and collaborate with professionals across various English-speaking countries. This gives me a deep, practical understanding of the diverse accents, corporate idioms, and diplomatic nuances used in modern global business. I know precisely what international employers are looking for when hiring or promoting non-native speakers, and I translate that knowledge directly into our lessons.
Teaching English is a deeply personal mission for me. I have traveled internationally to perform missionary work in Nepal, where I taught English to local communities. I have a proven track record of success: several of the students I mentored and trained during that time have successfully moved to the United Kingdom, with one currently studying at the prestigious University of St Andrews.
I currently reside in Medellín, Colombia, where I live with my wife, who is a native Colombian. Living here gives me a unique, firsthand understanding of the specific linguistic challenges Spanish speakers face when trying to master English. Whether your goal is to pass an academic interview, secure a corporate promotion, or speak with absolute confidence, I have the real-world experience to get you there.

My lessons are specifically designed for intermediate to advanced learners, corporate professionals, and academic students who need to upgrade their English skills to strict British standards.
Whether you are preparing for international corporate meetings or aiming to study in the United Kingdom, I tailor my approach to your exact goals. I have a proven track record of helping international students successfully enter elite UK institutions, including St Andrews University.
My Teaching Methods & Techniques: I use the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method mixed with targeted Task-Based Learning. This means we do not waste time memorizing boring grammar tables. Instead, we use real-world scenarios. I focus heavily on "The British Standard Edge"—introducing natural idioms, phrasal verbs, and clear Received Pronunciation (RP) structures that make you sound polished, professional, and diplomatic.
A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
(00–10 Mins) | The Warm-Up: Error correction from previous assignments and fluid conversational practice to get you thinking in English.
(10–30 Mins) | Target Skill Injection: Introducing a specific professional or academic concept (e.g., advanced British phrasing, corporate presentation style, or IELTS structure).
(30–50 Mins) | Controlled & Free Practice: Active roleplay or speaking tasks where you immediately apply the new concept in a real-world context.
(50–60 Mins) | Feedback & Action Plan: A detailed review of your pronunciation, grammar slips, and vocabulary upgrades to work on before next class.
What Sets Me Apart: As a native speaker with genuine international experience teaching in countries like Nepal and Colombia, I understand the unique structural roadblocks different cultures face when speaking English. I do not just teach you how to be understood; I coach you to communicate with the executive confidence required at the highest global levels.

Callum is an amazing teacher who taught me so many valuable English speaking skills. He is relatable and ensures to make the lessons specific to the situation of the learner.
Callum taught me while on mission trip to Nepal. I must say his lessons were very informative and improved my English drastically. I study in the UK now at St Andrews University. I was only able to complete the assessment due to Callum's teaching and bringing my level up to the British standard. I would highly recommend!
