About Zoia
I am a rising high school junior, and I have had a passion for languages since I was young. As I traveled to many different countries, I realized I love learning, which led me to becoming a tutor. I currently volunteer for Learn To Be, where I teach multiple students English and Creative Writing. I am fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, and English and am studying Spanish and Korean. I reached fluency in English by just speaking it, which is why I am a firm believer in communication-based learning. My lessons focus on real conversations, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and everyday words that you can use in real life. My goal is to help you become a more confident and independent language learner while making each lesson engaging and enjoyable. Thank you for considering me as your tutor. I look forward to helping you achieve your language-learning goals!

Hello! I'm a multilingual tutor fluent in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, and I love helping students build confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment.
My teaching approach is practical and interactive. Instead of memorizing long vocabulary lists, you'll learn how to use the language in real conversations through speaking practice, pronunciation exercises, vocabulary building, listening activities, and grammar explained in a simple, easy-to-understand way. Every lesson is adapted to your goals, learning style, and pace.
A typical lesson includes a quick review of previous material, learning new vocabulary or grammar in context, guided speaking practice, pronunciation coaching, and fun activities to help you remember what you've learned. You'll also receive personalized feedback and optional practice to continue improving between lessons.
My lessons are ideal for beginners and lower-intermediate learners, including children, teens, and adults who want to improve their speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, or conversational skills. Whether you're learning for school, travel, work, or personal growth, I'll create lessons that match your needs.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain concepts from multiple language perspectives. As someone fluent in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, I understand the challenges language learners face and can make difficult topics easier to understand. My lessons are friendly, patient, and focused on helping you gain confidence while enjoying the learning process.

Zoia is an incredible tutor who was able to offer humor and daily conversations into her classes, making me forget I was even learning. With her guidance in some topics I wasn’t sure about she made me improve my English 2x faster than when I would study grammar rules by the text book. I feel happy that she was my tutor as I was unsure of my English and felt embarrassed, but with her support in Russian and communication about things I truly love made me feel welcomed and confident during and outside of the classes.
An absolutely fantastic tutor who was able to spike my confidence in English to the next level. As a native Russian speaker she offered steady support while she mainly spoke in English, and explained some things I didn’t understand in Russian. I saw great progress in my skills after multiple lessons with her, allowing me to confidently speak with native English speakers.
