About Venus

I am a native French speaker and a first-year student at Oxford Brookes University. I grew up in Dakar, a French-speaking city, and I was educated in the French school system throughout my life, which has given me a strong command of the language and authentic pronunciation.
Before moving to the UK, I also taught English to beginner students, which helped me develop patience, clear communication skills and an understanding of how to explain languages in a simple and effective way.
French is an important part of my background, as my family is French and lives in Paris, and I regularly use the language in both academic and everyday settings.
I am friendly, patient and committed to helping students feel comfortable and confident when learning French. My lessons focus on practical communication, pronunciation and real-life conversation, and I always adapt my teaching style to the student’s level and goals.
Whether you are a complete beginner or simply want to improve your conversational French, I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I am a friendly native French speaker educated in the French school system, passionate about helping students learn French in a relaxed and supportive environment.
My lessons focus on practical communication, pronunciation and confidence. I believe the best way to learn a language is through speaking, listening and real-life conversation, not just memorising grammar rules.
During lessons, we work on:
Everyday vocabulary and useful expressions
Pronunciation and accent improvement
Conversation practice to build confidence
Simple grammar explained clearly and easily
Lessons usually last around 60 minutes and are adapted to each student’s needs and goals.
My classes are perfect for beginners, students, adults, or anyone who wants to improve their conversational French, especially for travel or personal interest.
I offer engaging and interactive lessons in Oxford or online, always aiming to make learning enjoyable and motivating.

I cannot recommend Venus highly enough as a French tutor. From our very first session, she created such a warm and welcoming environment that I immediately felt comfortable practicing, which is so important when learning a new language.

She has a remarkable gift for teaching; she explains complex grammar and vocabulary in a way that is easy to understand and tailored to my specific needs. Beyond her expertise, it is her kindness and patience that truly stand out. She consistently encourages me and provides the right support to keep me motivated.

Since starting my lessons with Venus, I have seen a significant improvement in my fluency and confidence. If you are looking for a tutor who is not only a brilliant educator but also a genuinely supportive person who makes learning a joy, Venus is the perfect choice!
