About Isabelle
I am a third year Ancient History student at the University of Warwick. Since February of this year I have started doing part-time tutoring languages such as French and Spanish - I currently teach three students each week, supporting them with their grammar, reading comprehension, listening skills and pronunciation. I have a passion for languages: at university I have taken Italian and German, but most of all I am interested in helping others develop that same passion and interest, and improve their skills.
I have been mainly teaching GCSE-level students but I am able to teach any level student in French.

Bonjour! My name is Isabelle and I am a half-French ancient history student who is passionate about languages and culture and helping people develop the same passion for it.
Although I don't have prior professional experience with tutoring, I have developed a concise method of teaching through my recent part-time work. Since I have had to host my tutoring online, I've been delivering lessons through PowerPoint presentations which I have made myself, according to the curriculum. I like to have the student involved as much as possible, that it's not just me reading off a powerpoint, but interacting through written and oral exercises and going over what was learned in the lesson through 're-capping' important points (in an oral question and answer format). I believe allowing the student to take the lead is important in their learning, so that they are not simply listening to someone talk for an hour.
Creating interest in the culture and history of the language as well is very important to me. I have a wide range of resources (films, music, series, books) which I believe would help create an even deeper interest for the student and create more motivation to learn! Learning a language isn't just about the 'A B C's and the 'le las les', it's about finding a method of learning that both inspires and drives you to find out more.
