About Hiroshi
こんにちは (Hello)! I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and I am excited to help you achieve your language goals. Whether you are a complete beginner picking up Japanese for the first time, or a working professional aiming to master business etiquette, I provide structured, confident support tailored entirely to your pace.
Why Study With Me?
Standard Tokyo Accent & Deep Cultural Context: Having completed my B.A. in Japan and spent six years working within a traditional Japanese corporation, I teach the standard Japanese intonation. You will learn everything from natural, casual street-level conversation to formal, corporate-grade business Japanese.
15+ Years of Proven Teaching Experience: I have been teaching Japanese for over a decade and a half. My experience spans leading diverse language classrooms for international students in China (where I studied abroad for two years) to conducting intensive 1:1 sessions for expats, students, and professionals relocating to Japan.
Fluent English Support & Global Perspective: I hold an MBA from a top-tier U.S. university and have extensive professional work experience in the United States. Because I am completely fluent in English, I understand the exact hurdles English speakers face when learning Japanese, allowing me to explain complex grammar points clearly and efficiently.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe language learning should be practical, engaging, and directly applicable to your life. From our very first lesson, we will focus on building a solid foundation while talking about the topics, hobbies, or career goals that interest you most.
Let's work together to unlock your Japanese conversational skills and build your confidence! Please feel free to reach out, check my availability, and book your first lesson. I look forward to meeting you!

What My Lessons Offer:
Solid Foundations: A formatted class paired with custom lesson recaps covering complex grammar points like verb/adjective conjugations and te-form usage, etc.
Tailored for All Levels: From complete beginners to intermediate/advanced learners exploring news articles and novels. I also offer conversation refreshers for rusty speakers.
Real-World Context: Combining my educational background with 30 years of living and working in Japan, I teach practical, everyday language—not just sterile textbook expressions.
My tutoring philosophy is built on patience and thoroughness. The most rewarding part of my work is watching a student finally grasp a difficult concept and seeing their long-term evolution. As someone who mastered English via daily radio broadcasts, I know firsthand that language dedication eventually transforms from a burden into a joy. I want to help you reach that exact breakthrough.
Let's broaden your Japanese conversation by focusing on what interests you most! Instant Book is available for flexible scheduling.
