About Ruiyan
Hi, I’m Ruiyan! I come from Guangdong, China. And I’m currently an undergraduate student at USYD, majoring in Criminology and Psychological Science.
Before moving to Australia, I studied German for two years in Chongqing, so I can also communicate in basic German. I’m passionate about exploring cities, watching musicals, and playing The Sims 4 in my free time.
Also, if you need any travel tips for Guangdong, Hongkong or Chongqing, or have questions about anything related to China, feel free to reach out：）I’d be happy to help!

I offer personalized Mandarin lessons specially designed for travelers who are planning to visit China or want to make the most out of their trip.
My classes focus on practical, real-life communication, such as ordering food, asking for directions, shopping, booking hotels, using transportation, and handling everyday travel situations with confidence. Alongside useful vocabulary and essential grammar, I also introduce cultural tips that can help you better understand local customs and avoid those common "lost in translation" moments while traveling.
Each one-hour lesson is interactive and tailored to your needs. As a native speaker with one year of part-time teaching experience at a well-known private tutoring institution in China, I always aim to make my explanations clear, relaxed, and easy to follow, so you can start speaking Mandarin from day one.

Ruiyan is a supportive tutor with patience and love. She taught me how to speak like a native speaker and the real Chinese I would never learn at school. I would highly recommend her.
