About Olivia

My Teaching Style & A Bit About Me
My classes are 100% tailored to your personal goals. I believe learning a language shouldn't be about rote memorization, but about practical application and cultural connection.

When I’m not teaching or studying, you can usually find me exploring Perth's hidden gem restaurants, enjoying a good coffee with live music, or out lure fishing! I’m also a proud cat mom to my two cats, Yuyuan and Mochi. I bring this same enthusiastic and approachable energy to my classroom.

Let’s connect and make your Chinese learning journey both rewarding and enjoyable!

About the lesson

About Me
Hi, I'm Olivia! Originally from Shanghai, I am a native Mandarin speaker now based in Perth, currently completing my Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education at Southern Cross University.

I bring a highly unique blend of academic rigor and corporate experience to my language teaching. I hold a Master’s degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Melbourne and have co-authored academic journal articles focusing on consumer decision-making. Professionally, I spent years working as a Sales Data Analyst and Operations Manager for a Fortune 500 multinational company (3M). Whether you are a parent looking for structured academic support for your child, or a professional aiming to master business negotiations in Mandarin, I have the right expertise to guide you.

What I Offer:

For K-12 & High School Students:
As a Secondary Education student, I understand how to design engaging, structured lessons that align with Australian curriculum standards, including ATAR preparation. I also bring hands-on, cross-cultural tutoring experience. Previously, I was trusted by my graduate professor to provide tailored conversational Mandarin coaching for their child—a Korean middle school student studying in the US. Through these dedicated sessions, I successfully helped the student build spoken fluency and confidence in a fully cross-cultural context.

For Professionals & Adult Learners (Business Chinese):
Leveraging my corporate management background at 3M and my academic research experience, I offer highly specialized Business Chinese courses. We can move beyond standard textbooks to discuss real-world commercial scenarios, workplace etiquette, and industry-specific vocabulary. We can even read and analyze business materials (such as Harvard Business Review cases or market trends) in Mandarin to elevate your high-level comprehension and cross-cultural communication skills.
