About Anabel
I have been teaching Catalan and Spanish for over 10 years in the UK. Currently, my main focus is as a private tutor, but I also run some lessons at a local adult learning center. Hola, I’m Anabel!
I am a Catalan native from Girona with Qualified Teacher Status. I am a friendly, fun and experienced Catalan teacher with a life long passion for languages and a fascination for other cultures. I have a great enthusiasm for helping my students gain the skills and confidence in speaking Catalan or Spanish. I cover all aspects of language learning and focus on your individual needs to ensure you make excellent progress and achieve your desired level.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Spanish and Catalan Language and Literature, a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish and Catalan as a foreign language and a PGCE (QTS). This has given me a solid foundation with an advanced knowledge and understanding of both the Spanish and Catalan languages. This experience has given me a unique skill set, allowing me to be fully equipped with the best teaching methods. This really helps my students build their confidence, accuracy and fluency from the very first lesson!
I can also prepare you for different targets, level A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 (Year 1, 2, 3 , 4, 5) (always following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), conversation or for travelers and professionals alike.
Many of my students are able to have basic conversations after just 4 months. Starting with no skills or knowledge, they could understand others and to be understood which is the main goal for most people. The best thing about private tuition is that you learn a lot quicker than in a normal course. The focus is in you, your needs and personal targets. I am happy having a weekly or a forthnightly lesson, one to one or for couples or even small groups at no extra cost per hour.
I look forward to discussing your needs and hearing from you soon!
