About Alexandra
Hello everyone! My name is Alexandra and I am a teacher and actress from Barcelona, Spain. I have five years of experience teaching drama, english, spanish and catalan.
I have lived in a big town near Barcelona city for most years of my life. Although when I finished my studies, I left Spain to go to Vietnam where I lived and taught English in a high school for a whole school year. And a year ago I moved to London where I am still living and working as teacher in a Montessori Nursery. All the rest of time I worked as Drama, Spanish and Catalan teacher in Barcelona.
I really like teaching and I am grateful to have the skills both for acting and languages as I consider that learning a language is never only about vocabulary, grammar and spelling. But it is also about the way of expressing the language, the non verbal communication or non written social rules that each country has and the attitude the speakers of each language have.
That is why I will focus my classes in the use of the language, the expression and the communication of it rather than the language itself written.

In my classes I will encourage my students to use all the knowledge they have learnt so far and work on their confidence from there, whatever their level is. I will help them to improve their pronunciation, their speech, their communication skills and their fluency when dealing with a Spanish or Catalan required conversation. I will give some tips to make it easier to be understood and to understand the language.
My classes will be ideal for someone who is getting ready for a formal or informal conversation, an interview, an oral presentation, a speech or an acting casting. Or as well for someone who wants to travel to Spain and needs to know the basic sentences to move around; or someone who is just looking for an hour of conversation with a native speaker. I will have an individualized plan for each class as I understand each person will have a different level, goal and time to achieve it.
Of course I will be ready and happy to answer and help with all concerns and questions the student may have.
