About Anna
I graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2019 with a degree from Journalism, Communications and Integrated Marketing, and have worked as a freelance or staff writer at publications such as Smithsonian Magazine, Bandcamp Daily, and the Chicago Reader. As well as a deep familiarity with grammar and AP Style, I am well read and knowledgeable about contemporary and classic fiction and narrative nonfiction.

My teaching approach emphasizes a strong understanding of the mechanics of writing--grammar and format--as those are the building blocks for any work, but I also to cater my lessons to the students' interests. We can focus more on formal essay writing, journalistic articles, or creative writing--I want to instill students with a strong baseline but also help them apply this to the literary context they are excited about.
