About Andrei
Teaching is more than knowing the subject. It’s the delivery.
I’m Andrei, and I’ve spent over 10 years helping students make sense of subjects they find difficult. In math, I pay attention to the step where understanding breaks down: a fraction rule, a missing algebra skill, or a question that feels impossible to start. I explain ideas clearly, give students room to think, and ask them to talk through their reasoning. My approach is patient and direct, with practice chosen for the individual. I also keep parents informed about what we covered and what needs more work.

These one-to-one online lessons suit homeschool families and international learners who can meet on weekday mornings, Toronto/Eastern Time. I can teach in English or Russian.
We can work on arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, algebra, equations, geometry and word problems. Bring your current coursework or homeschool materials. We can tackle a difficult topic, fill a gap from an earlier year or prepare for a test.
We begin with a short skill check and a problem from the student’s current work. I explain an example using clear steps and diagrams where helpful. We then solve a similar problem together before the student tries one independently. That final check shows what has been understood and what needs another explanation.
Students are encouraged to explain their thinking and ask questions throughout. Practice is matched to their grade and needs, and I give parents a brief update on what to practise next.
