About Micaela
"Working through a board feels like navigating a dense, dark forest until you find the right light. I have spent 12 years of experience refining how to teach blunder checking, opening principles, king safety, middlegame planning, calculation and visualization, recording and notation, game analysis, and endgame technique.
My background includes an MSc Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University, which helps me see patterns in complex systems. It is rare to find a tutor who values the logic of the game as much as the fun. I genuinely enjoy sitting down to analyze a position with someone who wants to improve. My own early failures at the board remain a core part of how I relate to learners today."
