About Adrian

I graudated MMath in September 204 and am currently considering a PhD. A focused tutor and trainee teacher, I am always aiming to help people get into their top choice universities. . Fun fact: I was president of rock music society in my fourth year.

About the lesson

I graduated in September and have applied for a PGCE Further Education. One year experience teaching AS and A Level maths and further maths. I teach how I wish I had been taught (I am not a genius). As in • example focused • preferring simpler approaches over complicated tricks • intuition building. Offering MAT and STEP preparation as I have experience running courses on them.

I studied maths with Adrian whilst at the University of Oxford. I could tell from our very first mathematical conversation that he has an incredibly deep understanding of a range of areas. His passion was evident very quickly!

Adrian is a fantastic teacher, having helped me with several of my (high level!) modules at university. He breaks topics down into digestible chunks which allows you to build a detailed picture. He is great at generating examples and counterexamples to help you learn, and is very good at spotting where holes in understanding may be. He is also very patient and has no trouble with explaining things in multiple ways until it all clicks - I can speak from experience!

I would highly recommend Adrian as a mathematics tutor to anybody. He makes the learning process fun and engaging, and you can tell that he cares a lot about his tutee's understanding. He never gives up on you, no matter if it takes some time for certain concepts to sink in.
