About Simon

I am a native French speaker from Montréal with experience supporting adults in learning and improving their communication skills. I have revised and proofread written works, including poetry and short texts, which gives me a precise understanding of written French. I bring a structured and patient approach to teaching, adapted to each student’s level and goals. My sessions focus on practical communication and real progress in both spoken and written French.

About the lesson

I teach French through a practical, conversational approach focused on real communication rather than excessive theory. My methodology combines structured grammar foundations with meaningful discussions based on students’ interests and goals. A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up conversation, followed by targeted exercises to correct recurring mistakes, vocabulary expansion, and guided reading or listening practice. I provide personalized corrections and explanations grounded in examples rather than abstract rules. What sets me apart as a tutor is my professional experience revising written texts (including books and poetry collections), which enables me to offer precise, high-level feedback on both spoken and written French. I balance rigor and openness, helping students gain confidence without sacrificing accuracy. These lessons are ideal for adult learners, university students, professionals needing strong communication skills in French, or motivated beginners seeking structured guidance toward fluency. Sessions can be adapted for oral expression, academic writing, or professional communication.
