About Stephen
I am a native French speaker who has previously worked in the media industry - involving journalism, translation and interpretation services from French to English & vice-versa. I have two years of tutoring French to children, teenagers and adults from various backgrounds; for academic purposes, exam preparations, helping for homework or to just simply improve their fluency & pronunciation. I love history, geography and traveling around the world! I also love reading and I am currently working on different pedagogical methods and research studies of teaching languages in this modern world. My classes are currently online and happy to help you with anything you need to succeed in French. I'm currently accepting students with an intermediate to advanced level of French.

Perfect! I can’t recommend Stephen enough! He is incredibly supportive and engaging, creating a learning environment that is both effective and stress-free. He is detail-oriented and thorough, refining everything from grammar to precise pronunciation. Under his encouraging mentorship, I was able to improve my TEF score significantly in a very short time.
- Kee Wee is a very passionate student who wants to succeed the TEF Oral Exam. His positive attitude while receiving my feedbacks after our classes would improve his confidence to speak fluently and better with a rich vocabulary as I'm here to help him with that.Stephen's response :
Perfect! Stephen is an excellent tutor for my 9 years old son! He has a very clear pronunciation. He is organized, patient, and well-prepared! My son is a total beginner, but only after taking 2 lessons, he can read French alphabet, say quite a few greeting sentences, and count from 1 to 10! Stephen is a very friendly and supportive teacher. He replied to my messages quickly and communicate with me and my son very well! Highly recommend Stephen!
- Meng enrolled her son named Joseph to take lessons with me. Joseph is an amazing student, very attentive, serious and is improving a lot. I like that he reviews his lessons and prepares himself in advance for the next lessons.Stephen's response :
Perfect! Stephen is one of the most knowledgeable French teachers. He has helped me speak more correctly and understand my mistakes. His good manners and commitment to teaching the language are truly admirable.
- Ellie is a great student, who already has a good knowledge of the French language. I'm glad to have her as a student to help her polish her grammar, vocabulary and expressions to succeed for the TEF Exam coming-up soon!Stephen's response :
Perfect! Superb teacher. Thanks to him, I passed my TEF exam in Canada and learned a lot about how to speak correctly in French. He is very kind but very precise and demanding at the same time.
- Antonio is a fantastic and enthusiastic student with a positive attitude to improve his pronunciation and knowledge of the French language. I'm delighted to have him as student as we are focusing mostly on the TEF Oral Expression section to help him achieve high scores.Stephen's response :
Perfect! My daughter had her first lesson with Stephen and she really enjoyed it. She is usually very shy and lacks confidence in French, but he was incredibly kind and patient with her. After the class, she told me she loved it and is excited for the next one. We’re very happy with the experience so far!
- Kana's daughter is amongst one of my youngest students and she's slowly, but surely progressing even better after every lesson. I exercise active listening and patience to make sure that the basic roots of the language is well understood by the student first; then, I move on to exercises to practice what has been learnt. :)Stephen's response :
Perfect! Stephen is excellent! I could tell from his picture that he was going to be wonderful. His French is impeccable, he is polished in his approach and very warm and supportive. I am extremely happy with my progress after just 2 lessons, and I have already purchased 10 more!
- Teela is a fantastic student! Her great enthusiasm, communication skills, and devotion to learn Conversational French are great assets that would make her progress even further.Stephen's response :
