About Tess
I’m an experienced chess instructor with over 9 years of teaching and coaching experience. My goal is to help students think more clearly and strategically through the game of chess. I regularly guide learners through chess workshops and competitive training programs.
Lessons focus on developing logical reasoning and problem-solving ability. Students learn how to analyze positions and calculate variations effectively.
Tactical training is an important part of improvement. Solving puzzles helps build strong pattern recognition and board awareness.
I often work with gifted students and aspiring chess competitors. These players enjoy exploring deeper strategies and advanced concepts.
We study openings, positional play, and practical endgames. Each topic helps players build a balanced understanding of chess.

My chess teaching approach focuses on clarity, strategy, and efficient thinking. I start by helping learners understand the core principles of chess such as piece coordination, development, and space control. Tactical awareness is strengthened through patterns like forks, pins, skewers, and simple mating combinations.
I also introduce visualization exercises and quick calculation drills. These activities help learners analyze positions with greater accuracy. Time management techniques are practiced so players can make confident moves without rushing. Lessons include puzzle solving, practice games, and guided analysis.
