About Ettilla Mohiuddin
I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at UNSW with a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, graduating among the top students in my cohort.
My academic and research work spans Python, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, data analysis and multi-agent systems, with a particular interest in making intelligent technologies easier for people to understand and use.
Beyond research, I have hands-on teaching and outreach experience through UNSW’s Young Women in Engineering (YoWIE) Robotics Program, where I delivered introductory programming and robotics activities, demonstrated physical robots, supported students in small groups and helped troubleshoot technical problems in real time.
I have also completed UNSW’s Beginning to Teach program, covering lesson planning, active learning, student engagement and constructive feedback.
My achievements include the Best Presenter Award at the UNSW Canberra 3 Minute Thesis School Round and the Best Student Paper Award at ICSI 2025 in Yokohama, Japan — recognition of both my research and my ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly.
What I enjoy most about teaching is the moment when a difficult concept finally “clicks” for a student. My approach is patient, friendly and structured, with a strong focus on understanding rather than memorizing.
My goal is to help students become confident enough to approach new programming problems independently — not just solve the problem in front of them.

Programming should feel like solving a puzzle — not memorising a dictionary of syntax.
In my lessons, we focus on the “why” behind the code. I break complex ideas into small, clear steps, use practical examples, and help you build the logic needed to solve problems confidently on your own.
Depending on your goals, we can work on Python, SQL, programming fundamentals, debugging, data analysis, or introductory Artificial Intelligence. Each lesson is adapted to your level, so you will never feel rushed or lost.
A typical 60-minute lesson combines explanation, guided coding, practice problems and feedback. If something does not make sense the first time, we approach it differently until it clicks.
My lessons are suitable for complete beginners, university students, engineering and computer science students, and anyone returning to programming after a break.
The goal is simple: less memorising, more understanding — and more confidence every lesson.
