About Doctor-Nima

I have over 18 years of experience teaching Mathematics and Physics at GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate levels, consistently delivering excellent results. My academic background includes a BSc in Physics, an MSc in Computer Science, and a PhD in Telecommunications. My teaching philosophy is rooted in discipline, consistent effort, and a deep understanding of the subject matter. In Physics, I focus on helping students truly grasp the underlying concepts rather than relying on memorisation. I ensure that each topic is explained clearly and thoroughly, guiding students to understand the ‘why’ behind each principle. In Mathematics, I break down each step methodically and assign carefully selected homework tasks to reinforce learning and develop problem-solving skills. I’m passionate about making a positive impact on my students’ futures by helping them achieve higher grades and gain admission to top universities. With a focus on hard work and discipline, many of my students exceed their own expectations. Several students who initially lacked confidence in GCSE Maths not only performed exceptionally well in their final exams but even chose to continue the subject at A-level. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how, through our work together, their attitude towards Maths transforms into one of confidence and enthusiasm.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, which is why I take a highly personalised approach to tutoring. From the very first (free) introduction session, I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style. I then tailor every lesson to meet their individual needs — whether it’s building confidence, filling knowledge gaps or reinforcing key concepts and help students to achieve their full academic potential. Whether it’s exam prep or long-term support, each session is tailored to the student’s unique needs and goals.

Dr. Nima taught my son from Year 11 through to Year 13, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is an exceptionally hardworking tutor who truly understands the individual needs of each student. His teaching style is both professional and engaging — he has a remarkable ability to simplify complex mathematical concepts and make learning enjoyable.
Dr. Nima keeps students focused and motivated by regularly providing practice questions, carefully reviewing their work, and identifying exactly where they may have struggled. His dedication and methodical approach make a real difference.
My son joined him in Year 11, the year of his GCSE exams, and under Dr. Nima’s guidance achieved Grade 9 in both Maths and Further Maths. For A levels, my son began with Maths and later decided to take on Further Maths as well — a challenge he was able to embrace confidently thanks to Dr. Nima’s encouragement and support. In the A-levle, he achieved an A* in Maths and an A in Further Maths.
It was truly Dr. Nima’s consistent support, motivation, and expert teaching that helped my son reach his full potential and pursue the desired course in the university.. I would highly recommend him to any parent looking for a dedicated, skilled, and inspiring maths tutor.
