About Kelsie

Hello! I'm Kelsie, an experienced tutor specialising in Literature and Academic Skills, offering personalised support for students from GCSE to PhD levels. With a deep passion for the written word and a commitment to academic excellence, I am dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential and achieve their educational goals.

My Background

With a first class BA (Hons) degree in English and Linguistics, a Master's (with distinction) in English Literary Studies, and PhD in Literature, I have expertise in literary analysis, critical thinking, and academic writing. Over the years, I have honed my skills through teaching, research, and continuous professional development. My experience spans:

GCSE and A-Level Tutoring: Assisting students in mastering English literature and language, from classic texts to contemporary works.
Undergraduate Support: Guiding university students through essay writing, literary theory, and comprehensive text analysis to referencing and study skills.
Postgraduate Mentorship: Providing in-depth assistance with thesis and dissertation writing, research methodologies, and advanced academic skills.

Why I Teach

My journey as an educator began with a love for literature and a desire to share that passion with others. I believe that literature is not just about reading books; it's about exploring new ideas, understanding different perspectives, and developing critical thinking skills. Teaching allows me to inspire students to appreciate the richness of literature while equipping them with the skills they need to succeed academically.

I am motivated by the transformative power of education and the impact it can have on a student's life. Watching my students grow in confidence, improve their grades, and achieve their academic dreams is the most rewarding part of my job. Whether it's helping a GCSE student grasp Shakespeare or guiding a PhD candidate through complex research, I am dedicated to making a difference in my students' educational journeys.

My Teaching Philosophy

Personalised Learning: I believe that every student is unique, and I tailor my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs.
Interactive Sessions: Engaging, discussion-based lessons that encourage active participation and critical thinking.
Goal-Oriented Approach: Focusing on each student's specific goals, whether it's improving grades, mastering a particular skill, or completing a research project.
