About Raffaele
I am a qualified Biology teacher with a PhD in Molecular Biology and over ten years of experience in academic research. Before moving into secondary education, I worked in university research environments, supervising undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students and delivering lectures.
I decided to move into teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping students understand complex ideas and gain confidence in their abilities. I believe Biology becomes much more accessible when it is explained clearly and logically, without unnecessary complication.
My background allows me to combine strong subject knowledge with practical teaching experience, supporting students from secondary level through to university and research stages.
I aim to create a calm, supportive and structured learning environment where students feel encouraged, challenged and confident in their academic progress.

My lessons are structured, clear and fully tailored to your level and academic goals. I support students studying GCSE, A-Level, Higher, Advanced Higher and IB Biology, including those in British curriculum schools in the UK and internationally.
With a PhD in Molecular Biology and over ten years of academic research experience, I also provide guidance for post-secondary students, including foundation and introductory university courses, Bachelor’s and Master’s level biosciences. In addition, I offer academic mentoring and research support for PhD students, including help with scientific writing, data interpretation, research planning and critical analysis.
Each session focuses on breaking down complex concepts into logical steps, strengthening exam technique, improving data analysis skills and developing confident, structured written answers. I use targeted practice, past-paper questions and structured feedback to ensure steady and measurable progress.
Whether you are preparing for exams, transitioning to university or working on advanced research topics, I provide supportive, focused and academically rigorous guidance in a calm and professional learning environment.
