About Zurisaday
I am a reliable person and a very dedicated and committed teacher. I always do my best effort to help my students succeed. I am approachable as a teacher and as a person. If there is something I am teaching that is not easily understood, due to its level of complexity, I ask for my students to let me know, so that I continue to look for ways to break it down and make it easier to comprehend. I would also find different ways to practice such concept and to see it applied in writing and orally. I like to teach my students for the level in which they find themselves, not rushing through new content, but at the same time, challenging them, to continue making progress. In the teaching of the Spanish language, I also incorporate the study of the Hispanic-American culture, making the learning process enjoyable and enriching.

I love teaching the youth, interacting with them and engaging with them in my native language. I truly enjoy transmitting to them my own knowledge of the language, as well as the Hispanic-American culture and way of life. I believe that making the students active in their own language and making my lesson plans student-centered, are very effective ways for them to learn and enjoy the language. I typically begin my lessons with a warm up activity to go over what was studied in the previous class, to introduce something new, or to just get the students to talk and listen in the target language. Then, I introduce the new concept for the day, which could be new vocabulary, new verbs or grammar structure. I do this in an interactive way. Although it is me explaining and giving sample sentences, students also participate in the process of practicing the new topic or concept. It is common that I may bring a picture or a power point to be used as a visual aid and through which I can create questions students could answer using the target language. After I introduce and model the new concept for students, and practice with them, I assign activities for students to work on. Then we check these together. Finally, I give them the homework for the following class, which is always based on practicing what we have just studied. Sometimes, the homework are fun little projects where students have to used learned vocabulary or grammar. I truly enjoy seeing students having a greater understanding of the language, taking risks that will help them become better speakers, and enjoying the learning process.
