About Claudia
I am a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pursuing my PhD in Biological Sciences with a focus on Cell and Molecular Biology. I obtained my BS in genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have extensive experience tutoring in the life sciences and currently work as laboratory teaching assistant for a second semester introductory biology course. My students score very well in my portion of the course and I have received excellent evaluations and reviews from them. Additionally, I take upper level science classes as part of my program and perform research.

I base my teaching method on the hourglass model. Obtaining a broad foundation, then going into the finer details before broadening again to real world applications. I believe it is vital to understand your biology fundamentals before moving on to more complex topics. I am well versed in the scientific method and research methods, as well as scientific writing. I love to culture scientific minds!

Claudia was my teaching assistant for my college biology class and without her help, I don't think I could've gotten an A. Her discussion sections were super organized and she could answer all of our questions or get us the answers fast. Definitely one of the best TAs I've had.
I worked with Claudia for a little more than a year in a research lab in Madison, WI. She trained me and I learned very fast with her help. She is extremely knowledgable about microbiology and is so kind and patient. If you want a caring, passionate and organized teacher, she's your girl!
