My approach as a photography tutor is hands-on, encouraging, and tailored to each student's unique goals and experience level. I believe photography should be both fun and empowering, so I focus on breaking down technical concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps while also encouraging creativity and personal expression.
Teaching Method & Techniques:
I use a mix of visual demonstrations, real-world shooting scenarios, and guided practice with live feedback. My lessons include editing walkthroughs, camera technique breakdowns, and personalized assignments that help you grow at your own pace. Whether you're a visual learner or prefer a structured approach, I adapt each lesson to how you learn best.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Each session begins with a quick check-in to review progress and clarify goals. Then we dive into a focused topic like exposure, composition, posing, or lighting. I walk you through the concept with examples and demonstrations, followed by hands-on practice or guided edits. We wrap up with feedback, tips for improvement, and optional practice assignments.
What Sets Me Apart:
With over a decade of real-world experience and a strong educational foundation, I bring both depth and approachability to my lessons. I hold a Photography Degree, Photography Diploma, and certifications as a Digital Photographic Technician, Photography Portrait Specialist, Digital Imaging Specialist, and in Film Studies. I've also hosted my own photography workshops and mentored photographers in portrait photography. I don’t just teach how to take great photos—I help you build lasting skills and creative confidence.
Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are perfect for beginner to intermediate photographers, creative students, hobbyists, or anyone ready to grow their skills with expert guidance. Whether you’re aiming to improve your portraits, learn manual mode, master editing, or build a career in photography—I’m here to help you every step of the way.
