About Zaheed
I have worked at tuition centres for 3 years and have experience in private tuition for 11+ throughout my teaching career. I have volunteered at a primary school for a whole year and helped several Sixth Form students with AS-Level Physics and Mathematics in my final year of college.
I have also helped establish a growing tuition/youth centre and have managed classes as big as 15. This helped develop a major skill in communication with younger children as it was a charitable non-profit organisation aimed to help struggling parents by offering affordable tuition as well as afternoon activities and excursions.
At A-Levels I achieved an A* in Mathematics and Physics (A Level) and an A in Further Maths (AS Level). I have succesfully completed a year of Physics at the University of Warwick and have a great grasp in mental arithmatic as well as great problem solving skills which are vital in 11+ examinations.
I strongly believe parents are of vital importance in the 11+ process, which is why I have tailored lesson plans which I make in front of the child and the parents to straighten out any weak points in the childs understanding and to open a channel of communication between ourselves.
Mostly, I enjoy teaching children who have a desire for learning from an early age and who enjoy a challenge. I strongly believe good preparation from experienced mathematicians helps nurture skills for many years to come, which is why I ensure my students understand the importance of: tidiness on the page; familiarisation of mathematical symbols and terms; basic mathematical laws and, most importantly, quick ways of thinking.
