Lucas is one of my PhD supervisors at the University of Melbourne. He was the first person to train me in molecular diagnostics and bioinformatics when I started my PhD with almost no prior experience in either field. He patiently guided me through everything, from the most fundamental concepts to much more advanced techniques, covering both theory and hands-on laboratory work.

His teaching style is gentle, exceptionally clear, and always well paced.
