About Mohammad Owais
I'm Mohammad Owais, an MSc Computer Science student at Trinity College Dublin, with a background in AI and data science. Most of what I enjoy about the subjects I study comes down to one thing: I like taking something that looks complicated and pulling it apart until it makes sense. I tend to learn things from the ground up rather than just memorizing the surface, and that is exactly the habit I want to pass on to the people I work with.
The reason I want to tutor is personal. My mother is a teacher, so I grew up watching what teaching actually involves, and I saw how much it meant to her when a student finally understood something. I also know from the other side how much it matters to have someone in your corner who genuinely wants you to grow. A teacher like that does not just explain the material. They change how you see yourself and what you believe you are capable of. That stayed with me, and it is the kind of tutor I want to be.
Whenever I help someone understand something, I try to meet them where they are and find the explanation that clicks for that particular person, because no two people get stuck in the same place. What matters most to me is that a student leaves a session more confident than they came in.

My approach to teaching is very analogy-driven. Therefore, I like to understand the person I am tutoring better so that I can deliver more personalized lectures by using analogies that I believe the student will be able to relate to. I firmly believe that if you are truly good at something, then you can simplify the subject matter to make it understandable for even a baby. So, I do my best to simplify complex concepts in order to make them understandable. I like to go on a learning journey with the student, where complete understanding of the concepts being taught is the destination.
