About Isabella
My professional training began at Queensland National Ballet School, where I gained my Advanced Diploma in Dance (Elite Performance). Here, I was guided by notable industry leaders including Matthew Lawrence (ex-principal of the Australian Ballet and current Ballet Master of Queensland Ballet) and Karen Donovan (previous teacher of the Royal Ballet School and ex-principal of the Birmingham Royal Ballet). Later I was then accepted into the Upper School of Elmhurst Ballet School (the school of Birmingham Royal Ballet, UK), where I received multiple awards and a professional ballet contract to DJKT Ballet, Czech Republic, following graduation. I have since retired due to injury, and am now passionately focused on teaching, while also recently receiving my First Class Honors degree in Fine Arts from RMIT.

Private lessons with Isabella Rose Cort, ex-professional ballerina and Artistic Director of South Yarra Ballet Academy, offer personalised, supportive training in a positive and encouraging environment.
Adults and children are both welcome, with coaching available for all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to pre-professional dancers. Whether you are starting ballet for the first time, returning as an adult, or refining advanced technique, each lesson is carefully tailored to your individual goals, experience and body.

For lessons in-person at South Yarra Ballet Academy, a $40 studio hire fee is also charged. This fee does not go to myself, but to our venue at St Martins Youth Arts Centre.
