I wanted to learn how to draw buildings and streets in perspective. Federico explained it much better than the videos I'd been watching. The online format works perfectly, and I can practise straight after class.

My figures always looked like they were made of wood. Federico had me focus almost entirely on gesture and balance for a while, and it made a massive difference. The funny thing is that my ‘less accurate’ drawings actually started looking more alive

The expressions lesson was so much fun. We drew the same character feeling happy, angry, embarrassed, exhausted etc and changed only a few things each time. I realised I was drawing basically the same face for every emotion. Federico was really good at pointing out tiny changes that made a huge difference. I’ve been using the exercises for my own characters since.”

Really enjoyed this! Very friendly and patient teacher. The anatomy exercises were much easier to understand than I expected

Really good teacher. Patient, clear and actually looks at your individual work instead of giving generic advice. I’ve improved a lot with anatomy

I hadn’t drawn properly since university, which was quite a long time ago! My first few attempts were pretty rough. Federico never made a big deal about it though. We started with basic observation and gradually moved into figure drawing and values. I’m still rusty obviously, but I’ve started drawing almost every evening again. That alone makes the classes worth it for me

I wanted to learn how to paint landscapes without making every tree and rock look like an isolated object. We focused on atmospheric perspective, value grouping, edges and simplifying distant forms. The lesson about creating depth through changes in contrast was particularly useful. I now understand why some very simple landscape paintings feel much deeper than extremely detailed ones.

What I needed wasn't another Photoshop tutorial. I already knew how to use the software. I needed to understand why my illustrations weren't looking professional. Tadeo concentrated on drawing fundamentals—composition, anatomy, values, perspective and edges—and showed me where the actual weaknesses were. That was much more useful than learning another set of digital brushes.

I wanted to design characters for a personal graphic novel, but every character I created looked like a slightly different version of the same person. Federico had me experiment with body shapes, proportions, posture, clothing, silhouettes and facial features before worrying about details. We also talked about how a character's personality should influence their physical design. I came away with four completely different characters instead of four variations of one.

This wasn’t really a class about technique for me. I wanted to figure out what kind of artist I actually wanted to become. Tadeo looked at several of my drawings and helped me identify patterns in the things I naturally gravitate towards—dramatic lighting, exaggerated characters, strong silhouettes and more painterly finishes. Instead of telling me what style I should have, he helped me understand what was already there. That was probably the most valuable part of the experience.

I've attended many art workshops over the years, but Tadeo's classes stand out because of the quality of the critiques. His advice on composition, gesture, anatomy, and visual storytelling has strengthened both my portfolio and my daily professional work. Being able to attend online from my studio makes the experience even better.
